The Grounded Goat

The Grounded Goat is Tasmanian Support Collectives education and recreation centre, nestled amongst apple orchards at Mountain River in the beautiful Huon Valley.

At the Grounded Goat, NDIS Participants will have the opportunity to work with animals, grow produce and learn general farm skills with the environment designed to increase confidence, knowledge, and create social connections.

The programs will allow people to discover if this career path is right for them or to find an alternative that suits them more. At The Grounded Goat, a learning placement is an exciting opportunity for NDIS Participants to gain real world work experience.

This project complements Tasmanian Support Collectives workplace programs offered at Wren & Wolf Café and Retail space in Huonville.

Animal Care Program

The Grounded Goat’s Animal Care program is a capacity building program providing learning opportunities in animal care.

The Animal Care Program teaches practical hands-on skills through animal care practices.

Participants will complete a variety of activities in the many natural outdoor learning spaces at ‘The Grounded Goat’. Participants will also visit surrounding farms around Southern Tasmania.

The Grounded Goat offers an environment designed to increase confidence, knowledge, and create social connections.

This program is open to NDIS Participants Monday to Friday 9.00am - 3.00pm
